So what’s your last meal of 2012?
Mine was a homecooked supper (yes, not dinner cuz by the time we finished cooking, it was way past 10pm haha) prepared with lots of love and plenty of laughter, a perfect way to bid farewell to 2012 and welcome 2013!
We (or rather, I) designed and executed (or rather, he did most of the cooking; I just commanded, lol) an ambitious 3-course
dinner supper of buckwheat risotto tossed with button mushrooms, seared salmon (was playing with the idea of doing a confit salmon but it’s challenging without an oven and kitchen thermometer) slathered with an interesting tahini-yogurt sauce, and the best dish of the night (ironically, this took the shortest time to whip up): black truffle scrambled eggs topped with generous amounts of black truffle shavings (I found a jar of whole truffles in my pantry the other day, score!), soft and not too creamy, on a bed of gorgeously sweet asparagus spears <3
Have a great 2013, everyone!
