Went in Jun 2013.
The service was slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy on a Saturday night. The wait staff repeatedly came to apologize for the long wait for the food. Drinks were also slow but compared to the food, it was relatively quick.

When the fideuas arrived, the pan was pretty hot. I ate maybe 5-10% of it when I put my fork in and pulled out a funny looking piece. It was dark so I put the candle to the pan and found a big piece of plastic wrap of about 15x10cm!
I can't recommend this restaurant at all!

Hi Roxanne

Thank you for the explanation. For point 1 and 2 you have provided a good explanation. I wish you sucess in creating a better cheesecake. =) (I think the reason I'm unable to cut the cheesecake with the plastic knife was due to the crust being harden when stored in the refrigerator. Therefore, imho, metal knife should be used unless the customer wants to have the cake thaw a little before cutting it with a plastic knife as compared to takeaways - like you mentioned -).

As for the coffee, I would have overlooked it if not for the entire experience that day. I hope the latte have lesser foam. As for the bitter coffee, I suggest you check with the supplier on the grind settings and extraction time to prevent the coffee from extracted bitter.

I hope your part timer would have gain from the incident. We all learnt from feedback; it makes us all better people. I learnt from my customers' feedback too.

I'll come back one day with my friends and I believe it will be for the better.

- Cheers.

Hi Louis, I'm Roxanne, one of the co-owners of overdoughs. I remember you as I passed you a metal knife for the Oreo cheesecake.

First of all, thanks a lot for sharing your feedback with us and I apologise for the issues that you have brought up. Please allow me to address them:

1. From how you described the muffin, I believe it should have been warmed up a little longer. Please be assured there are also blueberries in each and every banana muffin :- )

2. As overdoughs is mainly a takeaway place and is often times, manned by just one person, offering disposable ware to our customers is a more convenient solution. We use Cornware cutlery instead of regular plastic ones, as they are of better quality and most of all, more environmentally friendly! Upon requests like yours, we'd be happy to nip into artichoke and borrow their cutlery. That said, we'll look into how we can improve upon the Oreo cheesecake base which is made of cookies.

3. More thought could have been given into making your coffees and communication with you. I've had a chat with my part-timer who was attending to you that day, and we acknowledge that there is certainly no excuse for a lack of standards in either. I'm sorry that both were less than satisfactory.

On that note, we hope you won't judge us just on this incident as we'd really love to have you with us again! Please accept our invitation to host you and your friend at a time convenient for both of you.

Feel free to email me at roxanne@overdoughs.com if there's anything else you wish to highlight.

Thanks!

I just went there on Wednesday 5 June 2013.

The banana muffin I had was not what that was described here. The muffins were hard, dry and there were no blueberries.

The oreo cheese cake had a hard biscuit crust. Overdoughs did not have any metal cutlery available and the service staff brought me a metal fork after I told her I'm unable to slice the cheese cake with the plastic knife.

The latte and cappuccino are the same (with the same level of foam), but delivered in a glass and a cup respectively. The coffee taste rather bitter and not milky. I believe this is the result of too much espresso, some foam and lesser milk.

Finally, the service staff was busy talking with her boyfriend that even as we left, there was no "thank you", nor were the tables cleared.

Conclusion: I'm not returning there ever; the poor service and plastic cutlery is just unacceptable.
