Oh Tokyo, I underestimated your passion for food again. I thought no one will want salads for Saturday brunch but of course, I was so wrong. Cityshop シティショップ opens at 11.30am and there was already a long queue before doors opened. And the line kept forming.
At any one time, there are 15 “delis” (i.e. salads) available, from meat and fish to grains and roasted veg. I picked 5 to customise my lunch plate and it was aesthetically pleasing with so many vibrant colours. Not to mention delicious too, with lots of flavours from the marinations and dressings. Top favourites include the roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower, saury with Japanese salsa, and pumpkin with yogurt sauce. Almost Ottolenghi-ish!
