Leaving Auckland after my studies, I never thought that I’d meet this friend of mine again cuz she’s living in the City of Sails and I’m, well, stuck in Singapore. Then life took an unexpected turn and here I am, back in Auckland again after 2 years, and catching up like we’ve only just parted last week.

Our place of reunion: Cuisine 2010 best casual dining metropolitan runner-up, Ponsonby Road Bistro. Unpretentiously slick and serving up deliciously hearty food that makes our dinner 101% enjoyable.

Both of us had the ‘Market Fish’ (NZD 29.50), which is the equivalent of ‘Fish of the Day’. Fresh gurnard on pearl barley and dressed liberally with tzatziki that’s mighty refreshing. We love this! And the generous portions ensure that we are well-fed and happy 🙂

Though we were already full, how can I we say no to something sweet to end the meal? Dessert was a lovely warm chocolate pudding (NZD 14.50) that’s incredibly rich and decadent! In other words, satisfying to the max. For this alone, I’ll return happily!
