K and I once queued at Midori Sushi Ginza 梅丘寿司の美登利銀座店 for more than 2 hours omg. The quality is not worth such a long queue but I guess we like to do crazy things like that. Compared to the kaiten sister restaurant, I prefer the “proper” sushi branches because the set menu is of great value and the staff is always willing to accommodate my un-Japanese-ish “I want to change A for B” requests. My first visit to Midori was in 2011 and kudos to them for maintaining the consistency over the years. Anago, chutoro and the complimentary kani miso salad are the best here!

I'm Eating @myfoodsirens
Sorry to bore you with my vegan pics these days haha. I created a new account to share my vegan eats at @veganusually so you don’t have to see them here anymore 😬 Most of you already know that I’m a pescetarian (for more than a decade!) and I don’t intend to change into a 100% vegan because I love seafood and eggs too much. That said, I’m trying to cut out dairy as much as possible for various reasons, the top one being to get rid of the bloated feeling milk gives me. Let’s see how this lifestyle (yes vegan is a lifestyle, not a diet!) goes; maybe 10 or 20 years down the road, I’ll be a full convert? Never say never right. Anyway to show you that I’m still enjoying my unhealthy non-vegan food very much, I found a recent pic of tempura!! Brought my mom to this popular place when she came to visit last week. One big bowl of fried anago, squid, egg (best!!), seaweed, veggies, and it’s less than ¥1000 👏🏼👏🏼Three cakes just for me me and me 🙋🏻♀️ Yes that’s right, I don’t share cakes 🍰😆 Especially not when raw cakes are so difficult to find in Tokyo! Love how colourful they are; amazing that no yucky artificial colouring is used. Pretty for the eyes, and taste as good as they look too! I chose everything with some hints of chocolate: strawberry coconut with cacao amaretto, tahini banana with black currant cacao amaretto, and I think the last one has cacao banana with blueberry and citrus. Don’t even ask me to pick a favourite, it’s like asking a mom to choose her favourite kid 😂Pancakes sound like desserts but I had them for breakfast anyway 😂 These matcha pancakes were as fluffy and soft as they looked, and I love how eggy they tasted too, kind of like an omelette?! 🥞🍳 My favourite part is the stellar anko paste, not surprisingly since this wagashi cafe specializes in cute little dango 🍡 Must come!!Had an amazing amazing aaaaaaamazing lunch at a vegan popup today! Look how colourful the trio hummus plate was! 🌈 Miso, beetroot sage, and charcoal flavours, plus assorted raw and pickled vegetables, chickpeas, harissa, and a couple of gluten free pita breads. Absolute dream plate!! 💯 The best part? No artificial colouring used; everything is all natural. I want to eat this everyday 😭 (I bought extra for lunch tomorrow hehehe)You won’t believe the quantity of soft serves I used to inhale when traveling in the past. Soft serves for breakfast, brunch, lunch, teatime, dinner, supper, been there done that. But ever since there’s @matchayasg, I stopped because any flavours I want, I know we can do in-house and make it however intense and strong as I want. There’s a freedom to having a soft serve shop of your own haha. Anyway. Nowadays I’ll only have soft serves if the flavours are special... Like this Jiro-ame in Kanazawa! It’s a type of traditional rice malt candy syrup made without sugar and the base is soy. I love it! Not too sweet and the texture is so creamy even though there’s no dairy. The swirling is ugly but I can live with it 😂I’m Featured!
Me me meeeeeee
Hi! I'm a Singaporean girl living in Tokyo and I happily spend all my money on food. Because food is life.
